Cape Burney coastal rehabilitation works

The 黑料社 wishes to advise brushing will begin today, Tuesday 27 May 2025, at Greenough River Mouth in Cape Burney and will take approximately two weeks to complete.
Works are being undertaken to stabilise the coastal dunes by reducing wind erosion and trapping sand.
The brushing works will be followed by the installation of sand trap fencing and planting of coastal species amongst the brushing to help rehabilitate the coastal dunes.
The anticipated hours of work will be between 7am and 3pm.
Access to the beach will remain available during the works.
Members of the community are requested to exercise caution and obey all warning signs and directions from authorised City personnel and contractors.
These works reflect the City’s commitment to managing and maintaining the environment.
